Support the Hasslein Fund Legacy
The Alliance, a Foundation for Interdisciplinary Learning, owes its roots to George Johann Hasslein, the founding Dean of Cal Poly’s College of Architecture and Environmental Design (CAED). Under George’s leadership, the Architectural Engineering (ARCE) program evolved into an interdisciplinary focus that integrated various disciplines, and in the early 1970s, the five departments that form CAED today were established.
As the CAED faced challenges from changing state-funded public education, accreditation demands, and dwindling resources, George sent a “call to action” letter in 1984, envisioning a support foundation. The School of Architecture and Environmental Design Foundation was born in 1985, later becoming The Alliance.
Today, The Alliance supports CAED students and maintains the interdisciplinary spirit. As an all-volunteer organization, it ensures that 100% of donations directly benefit students and intended programs. The Alliance invites you to join its mission and give back to students, helping future generations benefit from interdisciplinary opportunities. Join us in becoming a supporter!
